Already have ChatKeeper and just want your "Forever License"?

Aaaaaand OpenAI broke the exports again. 🤕

Update July 12, 2026: I’m still investigating recent changes in the ChatGPT export format, especially around generated images and certain image-related conversation content. In my own exports, and in at least one other user’s export, generated images and the corresponding conversation responses are missing from the data provided by ChatGPT.

I have an open case with OpenAI and we’ve exchanged several emails about this over the past couple of weeks.

If you’ve used ChatKeeper with a recent ChatGPT export, especially one from July 2026, it would be really helpful if you could send me a quick note about how it went, particularly for conversations involving generated images!

Update June 25, 2026: the ChatGPT export format has now changed at least twice in the past month or so. The latest change seems buggy.

The previous format change (late May-ish) restructured its internal messages. This Adventure Build can handle those.

But a more recent format change in June simply drops information. No internal reasoning, no generated images, no messages in response to image requests, etc.

I’ve submitted a bug to OpenAI and am waiting to hear back.

A few weeks ago, the official ChatGPT export format changed again.

This resulted in badly-formed Markdown for some conversations, and broke ChatKeeper completely for others. The previous Adventure Release dealt with the breakage but still had formatting issues. This one gets us back to full(ish?) functionality with good Markdown.

I’m not aware of any lingering issues due to the new export format, but I’m still evaluating. In the meantime, you can too. 🙂

  • Citations
  • Research Status
  • Memory Updates

Still In Progress

• Reviewing ChatGPT export format and ChatKeeper output for anything I might have missed.
