Martian Software Privacy Policy

TL;DR:

1. We don't want your data.
2. We will only ask for what is absolutely needed to provide you with products or services.
3. We will never sell the data you choose to entrust us with.

Long Version

We really care about our own privacy and assume you care about yours, so we only collect what we need in order to provide you with the product or service you signed up for. That's what we would want if we were a customer.

We use a few external service providers for some parts of our offerings. These service providers are carefully selected and meet high data protection, data privacy and security standards.

We only share information with these providers that is required to offer you our products and services.

What we collect and why

We need your email address and payment information in order to process your purchase. These are received and stored at our payment processor, Paddle (see link for details).

For archival and customer support purposes, we save an encrypted copy of each software license we generate. Each license contains the email address to which it was issued.

We use CloudFlare for DNS resolution, some file hosting, and some caching. CloudFlare logs basic request/traffic information as needed to provide those services (see link for details).

We use Postmark to send transactional emails, such as software licenses, to our customers. Postmark securely stores your email address and the content of the emails only for the purpose of delivering those messages (see link for details).

We use Cabin for basic website analytics. Cabin stores data in a 100% anonymous format and is compliant with all privacy laws, globally (see link for details).

If you require ChatKeeper support, we may ask you to send us the contents of one or more of your ChatGPT conversations in order to duplicate a bug or other issue you encounter. You are not required to provide this, and if you do, we will discuss in advance how you can anonymize the conversation and transmit it to us securely. We will only store it encrypted and only for as long as we have your permission to do so.

Retention of data

We will retain and use your information as necessary for the purposes set forth in this policy and to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and protect Martian Software's legal rights.

Changes and questions

We may update this policy as needed to comply with relevant regulations and reflect any new practices. Whenever we make a significant change to our policies, we will also announce them on our company blog or social media profiles.
