About Martian Software

Martian Software, Inc was founded in 2003 by Marty Lamb as a side gig for consulting, open source software development, and some liability protection around a project I was working on at the time called TarProxy and that I presented at Paul Graham's 2004 Spam Conference. (The conference was a blast by the way and I met a ton of really smart and interesting folks - it's amazing to see what many of presenters and attendees have gone on to do.)

This site hosts a handful of open-source projects from the last 20-odd years 🤯. Some of these projects have even turned out to be pretty useful. Nailgun and JSAP, for example, have made a bit of an impact. It's pretty great to see these things being used by others, and even more so to see that folks STILL find them valuable after all this time!

In late September 2024 I Iaunched my first commercial product, ChatKeeper. It's a tool I built for myself that I've found really useful and I think others will, too. Now that it's out the door, I have a long list of other projects waiting to be unleashed. Martian Software is waking up from a long slumber.
